BCHA has been an umbrella organization for all horse-related interests in Boulder County since 1971. Our educational, recreational, and collaborative activities are centered around bringing the horse community together. We also support the protection of our historic agricultural practices and livestock keeping within Boulder County. BCHA is a 501(c)3 organization and contributions are tax-deductible.

Your yearly membership supports and connects the equestrian community in Boulder County. Your membership allows us to:

We are 100% volunteer-powered and always need help running the organization.  From leadership to  organizing events, or representing an equine point of view at city and county open space meetings– a wee bit of help goes a long way! Please reach out  and let us know what you’re interested in.

BCHA aims to shine a spotlight on quality equine education available regionally including clinics, events and seminars taught by members and experts in the area. Participation in  educational opportunities also builds networking and strengthens our equine community. Often our business members provide free or discounted participation to BCHA members. 

BCHA works to connect the community through fun and informative activities in the community. We encourage and support local equine and agricultural businesses, and annual events for all ages.

The BCHA Fun Show is our primary fundraiser and happens annually in October. We welcome all ages and breeds for a day of fun at the Boulder County Fairground.

BCHA strives to present a unified voice on equestrian issues to local and regional leadership agencies. We support the acquisition of open space and trails for all users. Over the years we have collaborated with Boulder County to formulate a set of horse-keeping guidelines in the Land Use Code that can accommodate the needs of most horse owners, yet enable the County to enforce reasonable regulations should the need arise.

We work to stay connected with other regional equine-focused non-profits and amplify their voices when we can.
